ABOUT US

The Smart Cities Living Lab started in January 2016 as an evolution of the Smart Services Cooperation Lab, then a partnership between the Ministry of Public Administration and Innovation, the Ministry of Education and Research, the Italian National Research Council (CNR) and the Private Telco Operator Telecom Italia S.p.A. (now TIM).

The lab’s mission is to identify which core technologies have the potential to transform urban areas into ‘smart cities’ and develop large-scale demonstrators for field deployment and experimentation.

The SCLL lab is headed by Dr. Vincenzo Raffaelli and is composed by an interdisciplinary team of engineers, physicists, mathematicians, computer scientists and digital media specialists.
