The Smart Cities Living Laboratory (SCLL) is an initiative of the Italian National Research Council (CNR) aimed at the development of innovative technology solutions to make cities more sustainable from an environmental and energetic point of view.

The lab’s goal is to identify which core technologies have the potential to transform urban areas into ‘smart cities’ and develop large-scale demonstrators for field deployment and experimentation.

The proposed solutions are designed with contributions from other CNR Research Institutes and Open Data sources from the municipal areas and are provided as production-ready services to local government agencies and citizens.

The SCLL lab is hosted by the Institute for Organic Synthesis and Photoreactivity (ISOF) at the Area di Ricerca CNR in Bologna (Italy).
